Duke of Edinburgh Practice Walks

Over the past two Saturdays we have had two groups of Year 10 pupils complete their first DofE practice walk to the Plough at Eaves.

Pupils were introduced to map reading and practiced their navigation skills in teams for the first time. This is all part of their training for their 2-day Bronze Award Expedition later this year. All pupils navigated very well and had successful mornings, well done!

Their next practice walks will be in March at Darwen Tower focusing on using compass bearings to aid them on their June expeditions.
