Broughton High School

Achieving Together

House System

"Pupils thrive academically, socially and emotionally.  There is something for everyone to join in and enjoy. The impressive selection of activities includes an international film club, and chess club as well as a spectacular range of sporting and music opportunities."

Ofsted, 2022

Our house names are tree species that are grown in the UK- these all typify the journey we make through school life. Growing in strength, developing a maturity and independence whilst creating a unique presence and individuality. Our House structure epitomises the qualities we expect of all our community. These are hard work, teamwork, resilience, a sense of belonging and an appreciation of our community and how we support each other.

For the new academic year, a range of challenges will make everyone accountable in all aspects of school life. We want to reward you for all your achievements.

Including academic excellence, great attendance, getting involved in clubs and opportunities within our community. Helping others in school and supporting our school charities though hardwork and helping to raise money for these worthwhile causes. Plus, many more.

Houses will compete for points and gain both recognition and reward for their team efforts.

Individually you can achieve bronze, silver and gold certificates for your reward points and achieve also our ‘Best of Broughton’ award- This will require achievement in academic excellence, great attendance, reading, service to the school community and charity work.

"Pupils benefit from an exceptional personal development programme. They gain the knowledge that they need to understand, participate and succeed in modern Britain. The ‘Best of Broughton’ award brings together activities that grow pupils’ character, confidence and personal identity throughout their time at the school.
