Faraday Battery Challenge
To celebrate Science week, 36 Year 8 pupils took part in the Faraday Battery Challenge. Pupils were in teams of six and the brief was to design and build a prototype which was capable of using batteries and would help one of the following:
- a person with a disability or specific need
- an educational toy for a child aged 2 to 5 years old
- someone who takes part in a sport or outdoor activity
Each team had to work within the resources and budget available, complete a detailed plan and events log and then present the protype to the IET faraday Challenge judges.
8R won the challenge with a battery-operated basket which also included a drinks holder.
Well done to: Alex Rostron, Matthew Hand, Grace Taylor, Hattie Cross, Eleanor Humphries and Lucy Mitchell.
