Netball - Years 9 & 10
The Year 9 and 10 netball teams played two fixtures this week, one at home against Ashton and one away against Corpus.
On Tuesday, the Year 10's played their opening game of the league against Ashton and played some beautiful netball. Across the court, all players remained strong throughout with some fantastic passages of play. The quality of passing and movement across the court was exceptional. In the first half, the Broughton side dominated, frequently turning the ball over on the opposition’s centre pass.
The final score was Broughton 15, Ashton 6. The player of the match was Ellie O'Neill.
The Year 9 team played their second game of the season against Ashton. The centre court worked effortlessly hard to continuously regain possession of the ball and played some fantastic defensive netball, limiting the space of the opposition.
The final score was Broughton 11, Ashton 2. The player of the match was Isla Tuson.
On Wednesday, the Year 9 and 10 teams visited Corpus. Both year groups dominated in their games and gave a solid performance.
The Year 10 did not concede a goal throughout the entire game winning an impressive 25-0.
The Year 9 team also had an impressive win, leading 7-1 at half time and finishing the game 17-3.
The player of the match for Year 9 was Jasmine Soliman and for Year 10 was Ellie O’Neill.
