Rotary Youth Speaks Intermediate Competition
On Tuesday, 2nd December, we entered three teams into the Rotary Youth Speaks Intermediate Competition at Balshaw’s CE High School in Leyland. The evening was full of talent and enthusiasm from all schools and what I found particularly impressive was that each speech was different and reflected the skills and personality of the individuals. Every single one of our pupils rose to the occasion and performed at their best. Two of our pupils even performed the role of their peers due to illness. I would like to give a special mention to Kayla Shumba from Broughton, who was awarded the prize for delivering the best Vote of Thanks. Finally, congratulations to St Bede’s High School in Blackburn who were the overall winners on the evening and will compete in the next round.
