U16 Boys' Football - Lancashire Cup Quarter Final

The U16 boys’ football team progressed to the Lancashire Cup Quarter Final after a 1-0 victory over Ribblesdale this week.  Ribblesdale were a strong and well organised team; their game plan was to defend deep and try and beat us on the break.  However, a combination of excellent defending and superb pressure and movement from the midfield saw Broughton dominate the ball.  With 10 minutes of the game remaining we finally capitalised on our constant pressure through Sam Willingale, who lobbed the Ribblesdale keeper as he tried to recover from an earlier cross into the box.  The team now face Lytham in the Quarter Final.
