U16 Girls' Football

The U16 Girls’ football team travelled to Chorley on Wednesday 15th January to play Holy Cross in the Lancashire Cup. Playing conditions were awful as a thick fog set in but the girls were versatile and adapted their play to suit the conditions.
We attacked well playing lots of two touch football to get around our opposition. Our first goal came from a through ball from Grace Lochhead to find May Ackley who made a great finish! Alex Latham was the next to find the back of the net after pushing high and forcing an overload in the opposition’s half. 2-0 at half time.

Kara Lee worked tirelessly in midfield to find space to play our forwards in, resulting in several shots on target at the start of the second half. Not long after, Grace Lochhead went charging through the middle of the pitch, beating several defenders and finishing with a shot bottom corner out of reach of the keeper to make us 3-0! Grace Lochhead decided one goal was just not enough for her and shot from long range to finish our victory 4-0!

A massive well done to the whole team and we now progress through to the quarter finals.
