Rounders – Preston Schools’ Tournament 2026

On Wednesday, 1st July, the Year 7 rounders team participated in the Preston Schools’ Rounders Tournament hosted at Archbishop Temple. The format of the competition meant that all teams played in a round robin. After playing five matches, the final game was against St Cecilia's who had some strong batters. First into bat meant the pressure was on ... again! The team made some very risky but tactical decisions to gain points and finished their bat on 5 and 1/2 rounders!! It was all to play for. Once again, the fielding was sharp. 6 batters out and only 2 rounders conceded.  Unaware of what the other schools scores were the result was called .... 3^rd OLCHS, 2^nd Fulwood ...   1^st Broughton!

Well done to all pupils on the team. Another victory for Broughton meaning that Years 10, 8 and 7 were all Preston Schools Rounders Tournament winners! Congratulations everyone!
