Women’s T20 World Cup – Old Trafford Cricket Ground

On Thursday this week, the girls’ cricket teams went on a trip to watch India v Bangladesh in the women's T20 World Cup at Old Trafford Cricket Ground.  It was a hot and sticky journey to get there on the minibus bus, but once in the ground we were sat in shade and there was a nice breeze to keep us all cool! There was a great atmosphere with lots of supporters for Bangladesh and India sat in our stand, but it was India's batting that brought the most cheering. Chasing a score of 136, the opening batters set out with intention, hitting some excellent 4s and 6s and giving the crowd plenty to cheer. India managed to chase the score down with 4 overs left, securing a second place finish in group A. The girls had a great time cheering and singing along and as always, were a credit to Broughton.
