Year 9 Pupils Awarded 1st Place in BAE Systems Competition
A group of Year 9 pupils recently took part in a project focussing on sustainable design and manufacturing using 3D printed outcomes. The competition organised by BAE Systems, is to encourage pupils into 3D manufacturing, Product Design and Engineering. The all-girl Engineering team were invited as finalists to BAE to present their idea to the board of judges. Their entry was a product which helps to prevent food waste, controlling portion size and helps to reduce recycling in line with our new food recycling bins brought in earlier this year. Their presentation was professional, and the judges were impressed with their thorough research and their attention to detail in getting their design prototype to function correctly.
Olivia, Ellen, Lily, Nishi, Ellie and Emma were awarded first prize; an outstanding achievement for a very hard working and dedicated team. Well done.
