Year 9 Rounders
On Wednesday, 17th June, the Year 9 rounders team competed in their annual Preston rounders tournament. Broughton got off to a good start, winning all their league games to progress through to the semi-finals as group winners. Here they faced Corpus, who had finished as runners up in their group. Broughton won the toss and opted to field first, and despite some excellent fielding, struggled with bowling and gave away some unfortunate rounders for no balls. This gave them a tough score of 5 rounders to chase. With 3 balls left, Broughton looked like they were going to equalise, but it wasn't to be, and they lost the game 5 rounders to 4.5. A great effort from all the girls involved.
